Roslyn’s Senior Portraits

Along with Jake, I shot Roslyn’s senior portraits on Saturday. She also plays basketball for Victory Baptist Academy and is an avid reader. I also discovered she really loves her big sunglasses and Hollywood shirt. Roslyn and her mom were great to work with on a very big day.
Jake’s Senior Portraits

Saturday I made a trip to Weatherford to shoot senior portraits for Jake and Roslyn. Here are a few of my favorites from Jake’s shoot. When working with Seniors, I like to focus on their interests because it is so much of who they are at this point in life.
Jake is a very talented musician [...]
Cale’s Senior Portraits

Saturday I shot Cale’s senior portraits at the barn with Zeus. I’ll give Cale complete credit, the guy has an eye for photography. He envisioned the shot of he and Zeus walking into the sunset when he saw how the sun streamed into the barn late in the day. We built the entire shoot around [...]
Quick portraits, bad locations

I like to say you can shoot a great portrait any time in any place. I run into this a lot shooting family portraits. Sometimes locations turn out to be very plain but you have to create great shots anyway. As a challenge I like to shoot portraits of my kids in random spots. I [...]
Judy + Jay Engagement

Last Saturday, I had the honor of shooting a ring blessing ceremony for Judy and Jay. Having never seen a ring blessing ceremony I was really excited. We started at Judy’s hotel to get some shots of her in her dress. This is a great example of how shooting with off-camera lighting can save you. [...]
Rachel’s Trash the Dress

I’ve been trying for three years to find a bride willing to use and abuse her dress after the wedding with a trash the dress session. Finally Rachel stepped up to the plate and hit it out of the park. We started at the Stephenville City Park for a few.
Then we headed out to this [...]
Norman Family

Yesterday I did a shoot with David Norman and his awesome family. We shot in a couple of locations around downtown Austin. They are moving to Kansas in a few days to take a position pastoring a church. It was now or never to do a shoot and get a little flavor of Austin to [...]
Mallorie’s Bridal

With Mallorie, we shot for a few hours at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden. I’ve shot there before and loved it. Mallorie was really brave with her dress, which made for some great shots.
For the second half of the shoot, we went to DKR Memorial Stadium in Austin where the Longhorns play. Unfortunately, they were working [...]
Cindy + Matt Engagement

We shot Cindy and Matt’s engagment session all over Austin. We started in some woods near the 360 bridge, went to the beautiful Cimaron Hills Golf course and ended up in a field behind my house. They brought Matt’s beautiful daughter along to turn it into a family shoot too.
[...]
Amanda + Shane Wedding

We shot Amanda and Shane’s wedding at the amazing Victoria’s Black Swan Inn in San Antonio last month. It was an incredible location to work at with a staff that really knows what it’s doing. It was a lot of fun to watch Amanda and Shane get married. Their reception was never dull and the [...]
Alyson + Brandon Engagement

This was an incredible shoot with Alyson and Brandon. We canceled our first shoot because it was supposed to be terrible weather. Of course, that day turned out beautiful. The backup date was last week. So naturally it rained cats and dogs and was very cold. Most people would have canceled the shoot, but we [...]
Stephens family

Back in November, I shot some new family portraits for Trent, Leslie and family. We met them here in Austin when we responded to a Craigslist ad for a bicycle. Colton’s had just been stolen and we were on the hunt for a new one. Becca picked up the bike and talked forever with Trent [...]
